2010 Schedule


We are always looking for volunteers to provide motors and other items of interest for our displays. We also need volunteers to mind the booths. These events are a great place to recruit new members, make new contacts and scare up leads on old outboards. Please contact the display coordinator if you can be of any assistance.


Spring Fishing and Boat Show

Feb 12-15

The club has been invited to put on a display at the show which runs from February 12 through 15th, at the International Centre, Mississauga. The show organizers have provided us with almost 50 linear feet of booth for our display; I NEED MOTORS!

Toronto Sportsman's Show

March 17th to 21st

The Toronto Sportsman’s show is one of the largest shows the MLC exhibits at. Thousands of people come through during the week and allows us to explain our hobby to interested individuals, exhibit both restored and original condition motors and sign up many new members to the club. This show has now moved to the Metro Toronto Convention Center and is March 17-21, 2010. We commonly have approximately 70 feet of exhibit space, so boats and motors on trailers as well as outboards on stands are required. Sudbury Sportsman Show


April 9-11th

Thousands of people visit the annual Sudbury Sportsmen Show giving us an excellent opportunity to showcase our hobby to interested individuals. We exhibit both restored and original condition motors and sign up many new members to the club. We commonly have a large exhibit space and welcome all members to display their motors. Please contact Al Lockhart to contribute towards booth duty and/or providing display motors.

Ice Breaker Meet

This is always an awesome meet with motors "on show" and tons of motors, parts and decals for sale...Bring your motor projects or an engine you are having trouble with...theres always someone who will help you out.

Cottage Fest

April 16 to 18

The Cottagefest Show has invited the MLC to put on an exhibit of boats and motors again this year. This show runs April 16-18, 2010, at the Hershey Center in Mississauga and provides a insight for cottagers on our hobby. Commonly, 30 feet of booth space is provided, so boats as well as motors are welcomed. Please contact Steve Silverthorn to contribute for booth duty and/or to display motors and boats. Maplefest

May 1st

Display in downtown Bowmanville.

They close the main street down for the whole day and 12,000+ people show up! There are jazz, swing bands and quartets playing, art and antique displays, products made with maple syrup for sale, children's amusements, wood carving, bake sales to name just some of the highlights. People from all over the Province come each year.

Spring Run Off

May 8th, 7am till 1pm.

This is a wet, swap and display meet... so bring your boat!

Take Highway 9 to Keele, turn North on Keele and follow the signs.

This is a great site with a small lake and lots of parking.

Traditionally, there is a lot of buy/sell/swap activity.

Members are reminded that we are guests and must come off the lake if skiers arrive.

*Important*
In order to prevent the possibility of contaminating the water, please wash your boat and flush your motor with a weak solution of Javex bleach in order to kill any zebra mussel eggs or other invasive species.
Only 4 wheel drive vehicles can launch boats.

ACBS Gravenhurst Summer Boat Show

July 10th 8am till 5pm.

Display at Sagamo Park; Gravenhurst

This year the ACBS show at Gravenhurst will be a 2 day show. the MLC has been asked to have an outboard display BOTH Saturday and Sunday. This is going to be an exciting year for the Gravenhurst show. Saturday will be Wooden boats, Field of Dreams, Marine vendors etc.
Sunday will be Classic Glass Boats, Car show and other marine vendors.
I need volunteers who can display either OR both days.

Baysville Boat Show

Display on the Baysville waterfront in conjunction with a classic boat and car show. The event is well attended with many vendors, live entertainment and concessions. It provides good exposure for the club on a large lake.

Art Doling Last Chance Wet Meet

Sept 25th 7am till 1pm.

Annual General Meeting

October 16th or 23rd (to be confirmed)

Swap/display and and the Annual General Membership meeting.

Toronto Humber Yacht Club

Directions: Take Queensway to Stephen Drive (runs north off Queensway between Kingsway and Parklawn, across from the Ontario Food Terminal). Turn north on Stephen, past Berry to Riverwood Parkway, left on Riverwood Parkway and then the first right onto Humber Valley Road (the entrance to Kingsmill Park). The meet is at the end of the road.

Bring all your surplus parts, motors and your list; a great place to make room and stock up for your winter projects. Starts at 8 AM and we usually wrap up shortly after lunch, but arrive early for the best deals and stay for the chilli and meeting.
